I was never a Deadhead. I never followed Jerry Garcia and company around the country in a VW Microbus. But I would consider following Wanderlust in Deadhead fashion (Volkswagen’s new electric Microbus would be fitting transportation). The yoga lifestyle festival is the largest in the world, with incarnations in Vermont, California, Canada and Australia. Wanderlust returns to its Colorado home-base in Aspen Snowmass June 30 through July 3.

“Wanderlust is an opportunity to choose your own adventure and live it in a beautiful, natural location,” said Wanderlust co-founder Jeff Krasno. “We look forward to bringing people together to celebrate, exchange ideas and experience the good things in life.”

Wanderlust was founded by Krasno, his wife Schuyler and his longtime business partner Sean. Wanderlust’s core mission doesn’t fit conveniently into a soundbite, but the founders’ vision is to nurture community around the pillars of mindful living: yoga, the arts, personal spirituality, environmentalism, organics and conscious consumerism. To that end, they enlist Earth’s brightest yoga guides, along with conscious musicians, teachers, performers, speakers, vendors, leaders and more. Steel Pulse, Xavier Rudd, Karsh Kale and Magic Giant are among this year’s musical headliners. AcroYoga, aerial yoga, hula hooping, kayaking, meditation, musical hikes, slacklining, speakeasy talks, stand up paddle boarding and team building field games are among Wanderlust’s eclectic offerings.

“The cauldron of talent at Wanderlust never ceases to amaze us, and while we continue to seek out diverse and gifted teachers, speakers and leaders – it often feels like the festival is equally shaped by the power of its participants,” reads the founders’ bio. “The pop-up scholars, performers, acroyogis, hoopers and artisans that have organically integrated into the event create an exchange of ideas and energy that could never be replicated by any traditional festival or concert experience.”
