The Lowdown: This one is for the history buffs out there. Experience a blast from the past as you explore Denver’s street car history with the History Colorado Center. Take a look at the similarities between the development of Colorado’s 20th-century street car and Denver’s light rail system today.
Denver Botanic Gardens Free Day

The Lowdown: Summer is the best time to appreciate Denver’s “living museum” and you can do it for free this Tuesday, thanks to funding from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District. Free days do not include ticketed events.
60 Minutes in Space

The Lowdown: If the mystery that is this galaxy is calling to you then you will love this opportunity from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Take a virtual trip into space as you sit in on a lecture with museum scientists to learn about new developments in the space technology.

The Lowdown: Calling all Colorado food and art lovers — the two will come together this week as local restaurants cook up creative “culinary interpretations” of Clyfford Still Museum’s most beloved works. Also, enjoy hand-crafted cocktails made with Colorado spirits. Museum exhibitions will be open for viewing.
Drop-In Writing Session: Rhythm in Words

The Lowdown: On the fourth Tuesday of every month the Denver Art Museum hosts a drop-in writing session. There are no reservations required and these lessons are included with the price of general admission. Each month attendees are able to try their hand at a different topic. This month’s topic, “Rhythm in Words”, is a poetic endeavor to “dance with words.”
LoDo Walking Tour

The Lowdown: If you’ve ever wanted to know more about the fantastic history of Denver, a LoDo Walking Tour is what you need. Fun and informative, the LoDo Walking Tours are courtesy of Historic Denver. They begin and end at Union Station, cover roughly a mile and last approximately 85 minutes. The tour explores Denver’s transportation history, commercial architecture, preservation efforts and other areas of Denver history. Historic Denver also offers walking tours of Larimer Square and Capitol Hill.
Velodrome Cycling Party

The Lowdown: Colorado Music Festival collaborates with Boulder Valley Velodrome this weekend for you to enjoy the cycling party of a lifetime. Ride on the banks of the Velodrome while enjoying live performances that include DJ Spooky and other Festival musicians. You’re welcome to enjoy the full experience with the cycling ticket or simply come for the party with the spectator ticket.
RiNo Final Friday

The Lowdown: Final Friday is a collaboration of community entities that are striving to support the healthy development of North Denver-based neighborhoods. Final Friday hosts up to 25 bands on three main outdoor stages. Participating neighborhood venues throughout the River North Art District will host a variety of performances and offer local goods and food to create a friendly marketplace atmosphere.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Midnight Release Party

The Lowdown: Harry Potter is back and Denver’s BookBar is celebrating his return in style.
